Val's signature dish, Peach Glazed Salmon, was published in the August/September 2005 issue of "Taste of Home" magazine.  It also was selected for the Taste of Home 2006 annual collection of recipes.  (And yes, they did misspell her last name as "Homer"!)

What do Alaskans eat for breakfast?

(Please tell us about any special dietary needs!)

Breakfasts at Bears Run B&B feature brewed Gevalia™ regular and decaf coffee, brewed teas, cocoa, and juice; home baked breads and muffins, often with wild blueberries; home made fireweed honey; fruit and yogurt.  Weekday breakfasts are best described as "continental-plus" because they typically include casseroles or quiche.

Weekends offer full breakfast service, and often include egg dishes; prospector's potatoes, breakfast meats or smoked Alaskan salmon; sourdough pancakes or French toast.

Complimentary evening refreshments include a choice of beverages, desserts or fruit and cheese.

Val often prepares fresh grilled salmon with peach glaze on the grill for evening meals.  She will prepare your "catch of the day" should you try your hand at some of the great fishing in Juneau.

Breakfast is served in the dining room, weekdays 6:00-8:00 AM and weekends 8:00-10:00AM.  Complimentary beverages anytime.
